OPTIMA Roasted Wheat

Roasted wheat is very similar to roasted barley in terms of flavour and aroma. However, due to the higher protein content, the lack of husk and the slightly different grain structure, its taste is slightly different, milder and less ashy. It is reminiscent of roasted coffee or chocolate.

Historically, this raw material was not very popular, but nowadays it is more often used due to its slightly less aggressive and more chocolate-coffee aroma than that of roasted barley. It shouldn’t make up more than 10 percent of the grist.
