Base malts
OPTIMA Pilsner Malt
Pilsner malt is the base malt for bottom- and top-fermented beers such as pilsner, lager, ale, altbier, wheat beers, etc. It can make up to 100 percent of the grist. EBC: 3 to 5.
OPTIMA Pale Ale Malt
Pale ale malt is the base malt for bottom- and top-fermented beers such as ale, stout, porter, wheat beers, etc. It can make up to 100 percent of the grist. EBC: 5.5 to 7.5.
OPTIMA Vienna Malt
Vienna malt is the base malt for bottom- and top-fermented beers such as maibock, märzen, golden ale, etc. It can make up to 100 percent of the grist. EBC: 7 to 9.
OPTIMA Munich Light Malt
Munich light malt is used in the production of dark beers of bottom and top fermentation and as an addition to light beers. It can make up to 100 percent of the grist. EBC: 10 to 20.
Caramel malts
OPTIMA Caramel Light 7-9 Malt
Specialty malt for light and dark beers obtained by saccharification and caramelization of the so-called green malt. It is used in the production of beers such as pale ale, altbier, amber ale, red lager, brown ale. It can make up to 50 percent of the grist (most often, however, 5 to 20 percent is used). EBC: 7 to 9.
OPTIMA Caramel Light 20-30 Malt
Specialty malt for light and dark beers obtained by saccharification and caramelization of the so-called green malt. It is used in the production of beers such as pale ale, altbier, amber ale, red lager, brown ale. It usually constitutes 5 to 20 percent of the grist. EBC: 20 to 30.
OPTIMA Caramel Light 40-60 Malt
Specialty malt for light and dark beers obtained by saccharification and caramelization of the so-called green malt. It is used in the production of beers such as pale ale, altbier, amber ale, red lager, brown ale. It usually constitutes 5 to 20 percent of the grist. EBC: 40 to 60.
OPTIMA Caramel Light 100-150 Malt
Specialty malt for amber and dark beers obtained by saccharification and caramelization of the so-called green malt. It is used in the production of beers such as amber ale, red lager, brown ale, altbier, stout and porter. It can constitute even up to 20 percent of the grist (most often, however, 3 to 15 percent is used). EBC: 100 to 150.
OPTIMA Caramel Dark 350-450 Malt
Specialty malt for dark beers obtained by saccharification and caramelization of the so-called green malt. It is used in the production of beers such as bock, porter, stout. It can constitute even up to 20 percent of the grist (most often, however, 3 to 15 percent is used). EBC: 350 to 450.
OPTIMA Caramel Light 600-750 Malt
Specialty malt for dark beers obtained by saccharification and caramelization of the so-called green malt. It is used in the production of beers such as bock, porter, stout. It can constitute even up to 20 percent of the grist (most often, however, 3 to 15 percent is used). EBC: 600 to 750.
Wheat malts
OPTIMA Wheat Malt
Wheat malt is the base malt for brewing wheat beers such as weizen, hefeweizen, kristallweizen, witbier, etc. It is also used for koelsch- and altbier-style beers. It can constitute even up to 100 percent of the grist (most often, however, no more than 80 percent is used). EBC: 4.5 to 5.5.
OPTIMA Colouring Wheat Malt
Specialty malt obtained from wheat malt. It is used amongst others in the production of dark wheat beers in the style of dunkelweizen or weizenbock. It shouldn’t make up more than 10 percent of the grist (most often, up to 5 percent is used). EBC: 1100 to 1500.
Rye malts
OPTIMA Rye Malt
Rye malt is used in the production of top- and bottom-fermented beers such as rye ale or rye lager. It shouldn’t make up more than 30 percent of the grist (although more than 50 percent is used for some beer styles). EBC: 3.5 to 5.5.
OPTIMA Colouring Rye Malt
Specialty malt obtained from rye malt. It is used amongst others as an addition to dark beers in the style of dark rye ale. It shouldn’t make up more than 10 percent of the grist (most often, up to 5 percent is used). EBC: 1100 to 1500.
Unmalted cereals
OPTIMA Roasted Barley
Unmalted raw material used as an addition to the production of beers such as stout, imperial stout, porter, etc. It shouldn’t make up more than 10 percent of the grist. EBC: not less than 1000.
OPTIMA Roasted Wheat
Unmalted raw material used amongst others as an addition to the production of dark wheat beers. It shouldn’t make up more than 10 percent of the grist (most often, up to 5 percent is used). EBC: not less than 1000.
